In a middle school full of power-hungry tyrants in the making, Wesley Grande is a new kid at St. Thomas Public School who has planned to run for class president. Running with his best friend, Wesley plans to “bring power back to the underdog.” Only thing that stands in his way is the most popular girl in school running against him who urges him to “enlist an army.” In order to win the presidency, he brings in a precocious, “soon-to-be mogul” sixth grader as a campaign manager to help out. Wesley soon has to decide what matters more to him: Power or Respect.

Linda is a full-time caregiver to her adult son, Kevin, who has intellectual disabilities. With Kevin consuming her days, things like travel, relaxation, and even aging seem like luxuries that are out of her reach. But, when a family member offers up a change, Linda begins to consider an alternative life for the first time—one without Kevin. With this decision comes panic, some unexpected visitors, and the occasional reckless daydream as the family considers a transition ahead.
