New Jersey's foremost supporter of new play development!
Premiere Stages Play Festival
Information about the 2019 Premiere Play Festival will be posted in Summer 2018.
Premiere’s flagship new play program is a regional competition that develops four exciting new plays each year. One play is later fully produced and another is workshopped to further hone the script. The Festival has supported the work of artists like Dominique Morisseau, Keith Josef Adkins, Rogelio Martinez, Vincent Delaney, Tammy Ryan, and many more.
Premiere Stages commissions New Jersey playwrights through two initiatives: the Liberty Live Commission and the NJPAC Stage Exchange.
Created through the generosity of staunch Premiere Stages supporters W. John Bauer and Nancy Boucher, the Bauer Boucher Playwriting Award recognizes the achievement of Kean University student and alumni playwrights.
